Transition from Year 6 to Year 7
The transition from Primary to Secondary school is a time of both excitement and anxiety for children and parents. At The Halifax Academy we work tirelessly to support students and their families in making this big step; we aim to ensure that it is a smooth and positive experience.
Our Year 7 Progress Leader, Mrs Saddique, leads a team of staff who work with Primary schools to ensure that students have a comfortable transition into the academy. We hope that by communicating our expectations and by giving families an insight into life at The Halifax Academy, we will remove any concerns that students and parents may have.
- Year 6 Tea Party - Thursday 28th June, 4.00pm - 6.00pm
- Information & Data Evening for Year 6 parents and students - Monday 2nd July, 5.30pm - 8.00pm
- Transition Day - Friday 6th July, 8.00am - 1.15pm
In addition to our Information & Data Evening, we are inviting all Year 6 students to The Halifax Academy Tea Party. It is intended for children and their parents or carers to attend and is an opportunity to meet staff from The Halifax Academy and to discuss any thoughts, concerns or questions within a relaxed setting. Please note, this event is for new students and parents/carers only; no other siblings or relatives will be allowed entry.
