We have a strategic plan which is aimed at providing opportunities to engage more fully with the surrounding community, and also the parents of our students.
Our long term goal is to become a centre for life long learning and hopefully make our site the hub of the community, ensuring that opportunities are available for members of the wider community to benefit from the fantastic facilities available to them.
The Halifax Academy Community Engagement Strategy
- Provide a service to our local community beyond educating their children
- Engage our parents in school improvement to raise levels of achievement and improve life chances
- Project a positive image of The Halifax Academy externally
- Engage the community in the vision for a Community Campus
Our long term vision is to become a centre of lifelong learning for the community we serve. Part of this vision involves encouraging community groups to work in partnership with us and also take advantage of the excellent facilities available at our school. We have great sporting facilities and ICT rooms along with our Great Hall which has already been used to host the Warley and Park Wards comunity awards ceremony, the graduation ceremony for the Integrated Calderdale project and the Grace Baptist Church carol service.
If you would like to discuss using any of our facilities, or have ideas on how your organisation could work in partnership with us to help our students make links with the wider community or local businesses, contact Christine Lawton on 01422 301080.
