Community Fun Day at Primary Phase

A community fun day was hosted by The Halifax Academy in partnership with Grace Baptist Church to bring together local families, friends and neighbours.

The event was held at the academy's primary school site, where free family activities and games were on offer, such as face painting, hoopla, can toss, hook a duck and a bouncy castle.

Volunteers from the church and the academy worked together to coordinate the event, running games and serving refreshments. A group of parents also took the opportunity to raise funds for end of term trips for the primary pupils, through a tombola, cake stall, Henna hand painting and sales of ice cream and pakoras. They raised over £650, which will help fund trips to Lytham St Anne's, Yorkshire Wildlife Park and Rainbow Factory creative arts centre.

The fun day was supported by a number of local businesses, including McVities, Tubzee, Saz and Roy's Balloons who donated a selection of prizes and refreshments.
