Happy and Healthy

Pupils in our Primary Phase had great fun during their Healthy Lifestyles Enrichment Week. The week started with a flurry of activity with pupils learning from specialist cricket and martial arts sports coaches, baking healthy snacks and learning about the importance of a healthy diet in work with Funky Foods all on the first day.
The week continued with sessions to try further sports. Children worked with our gymnastics coach, went swimming and took part in tennis coaching at Queens Sports Club. They enjoyed making and drinking healthy smoothies. The Better Living Team also worked with children and then ran a session for parents to promote healthy lifestyles.

A highlight of the week was the opening of the primary running track and everyone enjoyed running a kilometre to test it out. The track will be used each day and will be well tested when the children take part in the Forget-Me-Not Children's Hospice sponsored run 'Around the World' at the end of May.

The learning continued at home when children completed their Learning Logs about Healthy Living. The completed work was to an incredibly high standard and as usual showed just how creative our pupils are. The children proudly shared their work when parents joined them for a Learning Log walk after Achievement Assembly.
