A trip to the Outback... in Halifax!
Reception Class visited to 'The Outback' to pick summer fruits. The weather was a bit wet to begin with, but the children walked all the way there showing fantastic awareness of road safety.
The weather got brighter as the children picked strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrants, they also had a little taste to check that they were as delicious as they looked!
At lunchtime the children had a picnic on the grass in glorious sunshine, they had a little play on the slide, hid in the den and looked for minibeasts. A fabulous day was had by all and parents commented how their children went to bed early that night! Back at school the children made homemade jam and jam tarts with all the fruit that was picked.
