Caretaking Assistant -

Scale 3 (£8,086 - £8,540) - 20 hours per week Term Time Only
(Hours 2pm - 6pm Mon-Fri)

The Halifax Academy requires a Caretaking Assistant. The role involves maintaining The Halifax Academy estates and grounds to the highest standards whilst ensuring a safe environment for students, staff and visitors.

The Caretaking Assistant will carry out a range of caretaking duties to the agreed quality standards, including security and supervision of the site and related equipment, and other duties including porterage, cleaning and maintenance. The emphasis of this post will focus on site supervision, caretaking and handyperson tasks as required.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Work as part of a team but use their own initiative
  • Form effective relationships with staff and outside agencies
  • Be a positive role model for our students

Primary Trained Accelerator Teacher -

Required from January 2019 we would like to appoint an inspirational, dynamic and passionate Primary Trained Accelerator Teacher to join our successful Academy with the determination to drive student achievement even higher. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner to make a significant difference to students in KS3 not currently meeting national expectations on entry to the Academy in Year 7. The post holder will be working primarily with identified students in Years 7 and 8, accelerating and sustaining progress to enable them to access to the wider curriculum.

The Academy is the lead school in Impact Education MAT and is led by Mick Kay its Executive Headteacher, who is also CEO of Trust. Impact was established in November 2016 by Trustees who are morally driven to ensure that education has the greatest possible impact.
In September 2014, Halifax High added a Primary Phase to an existing successful Secondary Phase to create The Halifax Academy. The Primary Phase has two forms on entry and our oldest students are in Year 4. The Phase will continue to grow to a capacity of 420 students by September 2020. Year 6 students will transition seamlessly into Year 7.

Receptionist /Clerical Assistant -

33 hours per week – Term time only
Hours of work are: Monday – Thursday 8am - 3:30pm and Friday 8am - 1:30pm

We are looking to appoint a professional individual who can demonstrate high levels of customer service and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be expected to have the flexibility to fulfil a range of reception and clerical duties across both the Primary and Secondary buildings.
We have a good rating from Ofsted and our students make excellent progress.

Kitchen Assistant – Primary Phase -

Salary: £8:50 per hour Term Time Only
Hours: 15 hours per week (Mon – Fri 10:45 - 13:45)

The Halifax Academy would like to appoint a Kitchen Assistant within our Primary Phase to start as soon as possible. The kitchen assistant will be required to assist in the preparation of all meals, cleaning and tidying to support the lunchtime period.
